The Bushmaster ACR

Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC, Inc. was founded in 1978 and is the leading supplier of AR15 type rifles in the U.S. Bushmaster firearms are used by hundreds of law enforcement agencies, the military of more than 50 countries and by consumers for recreational shooting and hunting.

The Bushmaster ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle) is an updated version of the Masada Adaptive Combat Weapon System and is the most advanced combat/assault rifle ever created. The Bushmaster ACR includes features such as a quick-change barrel/trunnion system, non-reciprocating charging handle, adjustable gas regulator and storage compartments located in the grip and stock.

Because it was designed using an extensive amount of polymer, the Bushmaster ACR keeps weight to a minimum while still maintaining its durability and flexibility. With an assortment of barrel and stock combinations, the Bushmaster ACR is able to adapt to any situation and with controls that are 100% ambidextrous, the Bushmaster ACR is able to be used by right or left-handed shooters without having to make any modifications to the rifle itself.

The Bushmaster ACR has three different stock designs, each made for a specific mission. The first is a collapsible that also folds forward, making it perfect for storage or use in a confined space. This option also includes an adjustable cheek piece. The second ACR stock option is a non-folding style that comes with an adjustable cheek piece and increased strength for butt striking and extra storage space. The final stock is a sniper specific design.

Bushmaster Firearms is currently putting the ACR through testing and analysis programs and expects to release the Bushmaster ACR in the first half of 2010.
