This is my first scope past 4x. I''m used to the Hensoldt scopes on the HKs which are very clear. My first impressions of the Nikon is that it seems fairly rugged. It does the job great at all distances with The BDC. Very easy to use. And looks tacticool compared to the others in the price range. I''m liking it a lot.

Originaly, I needed a scope for my a-4 so I began looking to Shepherd for a model. I have both Shepherd AND Nikon on some of my rifles and I trust both names in shooting optics but for price reasons I studied the m-223 and it''s reticle and found largly it was what I needed. A 55 gr. balistic tip @ 3240 f.p.s. is what the reticle is set for but with practice i Will compensate the drop using 62 and 74 gr. loads. Great clarity, nice adjustment and the Anti Reflective Device compliments of nikon is a sweetener. No wonder I had to wait 7 months to find one. Maybe a reticle for heavy bullets COULD be next for nikon?
